To join you need to send a one-line message reading 'join socrel YOURFIRSTNAME YOURLASTNAME' to: JISCMAIL@JISCMAIL.AC.UK. Alternatively point your browser at http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/socrel.html where all instructions, (such as how to leave the list or suspend mailings), reference documents and the archives can be found. Details of other lists are found on www.jiscmail.ac.uk.

If you have a problem please check the information on the web site before bothering the list owners or officers of the group. If you really cannot solve your problem email socrel-request@jiscmail.ac.uk.

When posting a message to socrel you need to send it to socrel@jiscmail.ac.uk.

Please be careful:

1. Not to send attachments (it won't work .... please cut and paste the text into your message).

2. When replying to list messages... the default is to mail all members and some replies are better kept private (check the address in the TO line before you send).

3. When replying, please delete (or set your options to delete) the message you have just received. Otherwise the length of messages increases each time.

4. When replying, if you change the topic, please change the subject line

5. Please do not set up auto "out of office" replies on your mailing software as they will go to the whole list and there is at least one burglar lurking on the list!
